International contest for modelers at the Warlock:ON! exposition

Our friends in Cuernavaca, México, have open their Warlock:ON! Contest also the the international modelers, with a special "photo" section, and we all are invited!

Here the invitation they sent to all the friends of Plastic Models World:

Allow me to introduce us, we are Diana Rivera and Octavio West, designers, modelers,
creators/owners of the Warlock Hobbies franchise and organizers of the Warlock:ON!, a
modeling exposition and contest held in the city of Cuernavaca, México since 2010. It has also
become the closing date of the Mexican Modeling Circuit.
This year, the Warlock:ON! Celebrates its fourth call, to be held next November 30th and
December 1st. Over the years we had grown in size and participation, with the attendance of
over 40 authors with more than 200 pieces exposed in 2012.
This year, thanks to the kind suggestions of our friends from abroad, we created the
International Virtual Category (IVC), which is a contest exclusively for international modelers,
to be held within the frame of the Warlock:ON! This will allow all our offshore friends to
participate and join us from the distance just by sending some pictures of their works to
expose, compete and celebrate.
This invitation is open to you and all modeling friends, the only requirement we ask to
participate is you take some pictures of the models you wish to register. Such pictures must
include the attached “Registry form” printed and visible on any of them, and we ask between
five and seven takes among the following angles: overall, three quarters, front, back, left side,
right side, top, bottom and details close up. Enough so the judges can evaluate your work
accurately.

Pictures will be exposed along with your name (or pseudonym) as well as your national flag
in the IVC mural during the exposition and classified in six broad categories:

Airships
Military Vehicles
Automotives and Locomotives
Figures (Historical and Fantastic)
Science Fiction and Fantasy machines and vehicles
Dioramas & Vignettes
You can register one model per category. Each model will be evaluated by 4 judges of diverse
specialties and proved skill using our judging system called: HYBRID Merit-Tournament which
has the benefits of both systems where it derives, the “Open system” proposed by Sheperd
Paine (Gold, Silver, Bronze awards) and the tournament system (1st, 2nd and 3rd place) used
in most IPMS contests around the world.
As a reward for your participation, you will receive a printed and gauffered Warlock:ON! IV
diploma for each of your models noting the modeling merit obtained as well as its rank within
the IVC category, and competitors winning a Bronze or better merit recognition will also
receive an “Exemplar Merit” medal, showing the highest award attained. All of these prizes
will be mailed to your mail address or PO box.
There are no fees to participate or receive your prizes, we will be more than satisfied and
honored to count with your participation, expose your works’ pictures and praise them,
showing them to the local attendants and together celebrate and heighten modeling to
strengthen the friendship bonds among the Mexican and International modeling community.
We believe our hobby has given us so much that no matter where we live, the creed we
follow or which culture we belong to, we all share the same passion and love for this
wonderful activity, an experience that undoubtedly turns us into brothers and sisters
beyond frontiers.

Registry deadline is Nov 30th 06:00 GMT (which is 00:00 hours here in Mexico).

Warlock:ON! IV- Modeling Exposition and Contest- International Particpant Registry

Please fill the three spaces required, name (or pseudonym), country, model name and
participant code. To generate your participant code follow these simple steps:

1) Begin with the first two letters of your country name in English.
2) Next, write a dash and your name and surname initials
3) Write a dash and the model number you are registering (i.e. if you are registering
three models in total, write 1 for the first, 2, for the second, 3 for the third).
4) Finally, write the category letter as per the following table:
A)
Airships
B)
Military Vehicles
C)
Automotives and Locomotives
D)
Figures (Historical and Fantastic)
E)
Science Fiction and Fantasy machines and vehicles
F)
Dioramas & Vignettes

Example: If you are registering one model in the Airships category, and your name is Johann
Wüst from Germany. Write GE-JW-1A. If your second model is a tank, you would write: GE-
JW-2B.
