Amati First Step - Easier than the plastic to build, precious like the wood to look at

First Step is a new line of kit from Amati Model, with the purpose to make very easy building a wooden ship model, aimed to novices, kids just as to the advanced modelers looking for a relaxing, quick project.

They achieved this result with some very interesting features. For example, the wooden hull is already built in two half to be joined together, and not with tons of playwood strips to glue together.

This make the process of building the hulls very easy, even easier than with an equivalent plastic kit. Also other details are engineered to make things errors-free, like for example the locating holes for the mast, that are precisely carved in the wood hull.

At the moment there are 4 kits on the line:

the Bounty, in1:135 scale and with a length of 26 cm

the Elizabethan Galleon,  in1:135 scale and with a length of 28 cm

the Pirate Ship,  in1:135 scale and with a length of 28 cm

the Santa Maria,  in1:100 scale and with a length of 28 cm

The First Step kit by Amati are available in the best local stores and on many online stores. Prices should be 57 euros.
