Nakajima Ki-44 Tojo fighter, Hasegawa 1/72

Text, Model and Images by Luca Cinacchio

This is another of my bargain on Ebay, and old Hasegawa kit that spent the last 5 years on my stash.
It is the classic Hasegawa kit: overpriced -if not bought as a bargain on Ebay - for the level of details offered.
But these small kits are the perfect canvas to experiment new technique, and in the case of the small Tojo I wanted:
a) test my skill on braille scale in reproducing this strange camo pattern seen in some japanese fighters, before to use it on some bigger (and expensive) kit on 1/48 scale;
b) test how to make the Japanese circles with mask and hairbrush and no decals (the only decal used is the small symbol on the tail)
c) test a new weather technique for obtaining just an hint of rust: airbrushing a very thinned solution of AK Interactive Rust Wash (the ratio was about 20-30%% AK wash - 80-70% white spirit.

This is the result. Any comment is welcome !
