On the market there are many modeling books dedicated to the armors, covering amazing builds in great detail. But when it comes the time of books dedicated to the airplanes, the choice is smaller.

The famous Spanish publisher Accion Press has filled this gap, with a new wonderful volume dedicated to some of the most amazing WWII warbirds that I ever seen.

The book presents itself in the large A4 format (that is 21 cm x 29.7 cm) on high quality paper, for a total of 200 pages and more than 1000 pictures.

All the images are of professional quality, and show step by step the techniques adopted by the various authors in their builds.

The authors are some of the most worldwide famous modelers, Javier López de Anca and Ricardo Abad Medina, and their skill is just astonishing.

The English translations (original texts are in Spanish) have been greatly improved respect to the past, and now the English speaking people (not me, lol) will enjoy them.

The subjects covered in the volume are the most representative of the worldwide conflict: all the aviations of the major countries are present, from UK to Japan, from USA to Germany, from France to Italy and Russia.

All the techniques that can be used in the aircraft's modeling are presented. Super-detailing has a good emphasis, showing some simple but very useful tricks (e.g. : how to build an internal frame for a panel removed from the fuselage). But it is the painting and weathering field that the books reveals its potential at the best (and indeed the Authors belongs to the Spanish school, perhaps the one that gave to our hobby the greatest contributors in the weathering and painting field, in the last 30 years).

An example of this is the build of the Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate , a Japanese plane that is just the perfect canvas for the weathering methods.

The subjects covered are 8, but they are chosen to represent all the WWII fighters: even if your build isn't in the list, still in the book you will find plenty of ideas to apply in your own model.

If you are a serious WWII fighter's modeler, this volume is truly invaluable: a source of inspirations to have always at hand on your bench!

The volume has a price of € 39,50, and if you should not find it in your bookstore, you can buy it online at: http://www.euromodelismo.com/shop1/en/books-english/514-airplanes-in-scale-the-greatest-guide-en.html

The subject covered are:

Messerschmitt Bf 109 E1
Dewoitine D.520
Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate
